New Discussion Paper on Child Justice Alert! 📢

Children encounter the justice system in various ways whether as victims, witnesses, or when in conflict with the law. The Children’s Code Act was enacted to consolidate all child related laws and domesticate key international legal provisions, ensuring better protection of children’s rights.

However, despite being a progressive law, challenges remain in its implementation. This discussion paper on “Access to Justice for Children in Zambia under the Children’s Code Act No 12 of 2022,” in partnership with SAIPAR and Government of Ireland International Development Programme explores these gaps, the disparities between legal provisions and real-world application, and the rights of children during trial.

We hope you find it insightful! Download the full paper below.
