Best graduating student celebrates his graduation

40 Juveniles toasted their success amid cheers from the crowd following their graduation from Katombora Reformatory School where they had been undergoing training in Bricklaying and Rough Carpentry. This is the largest number of juveniles to have graduated from skills training at Katombora with 29 others having graduated in 2019.

The ceremony, which was held at the Reformatory School and punctuated by singing, dancing and skills demonstrations by the juveniles, was graced by Her Royal Highness Princess Joyce Sekute.

In her speech Chieftainess Sekute said the juveniles who had been in conflict with the law deserved a chance to reform and develop into respectable and responsible citizens.

“It is good to see the quality of trainees being churned out of the Reformatory School with such high standards,” Chieftainess Sekute said.

UP Zambia in partnership with Build IT International are targeting to train 180 juveniles over a three-year period with financial support from the European Union.
